Encircled Anachronistic Series: Lupine
This one of a kind earthenware art tile is part of a series honoring traditional Delft tiles with subtle modern spins. These designs are framed in double circles and have traditional “oxhead” corners in the style of antique Delft tile. The hand dipped glaze and individually hand cut tiles create imperfections and character that are missing from modern factory made tiles. But the cobalt carbonate illustrations lend a slightly cooler, more saturated blue than the traditional cobalt oxide, giving the designs a fresh, clean look. And the illustrations feature a mix of traditional and anachronistic subjects.
